Hasselback potatoes with crispy bacon and thyme

David Hasselhoff’s favourite delicacy will pull every meeting with friends ashore. These potatoes look great and taste even better!

Ingredients

  • 12 small potatoes
  • 1 pack of bacon in slices from Morliny
  • 2 tablespoons of butter
  • 1 teaspoon of granulated garlic
  • A handful of chopped parsley
  • A few sprigs of fresh thyme
  • Sliced cheese, e.g. Cheddar
  • Spring onion / a bunch of chives
  • Salt and pepper

Preparation

Step 1

Wash, dry, and then cut the potatoes with a knife into thin slices, without cutting them completely. They can’t fall apart.

Step 2

Mix the soft butter with garlic, parsley, and thyme, and then brush the potatoes with the prepared butter. Finally, season them with salt and pepper, and place them in an ovenproof dish. Cover and bake in 180 °C (356 °F) for about 30 minutes. After this time, take the potatoes from the oven.

Step 3

Cut the bacon and cheese into smaller pieces. Use a knife to open up the individual slices, and place the pieces of cheese and bacon alternately in them.

Step 4

Place in the oven, uncovered, for a further 20–30 minutes, until the potatoes are golden brown. Serve sprinkled with chopped green onions.
