White sausage baked in beer is a real delight for the senses, because it combines many flavors — salty, sweet, bitter, and sour — creating a composition that will be on the list of your favourites for a long time. What’s more to say? Et voila and God bless!

Ingredients

  • A pack of white sausage from Morliny (about 0.5 kg / 1.1 lb)
  • 2 small onions
  • 1 large sour apple (or 2 small ones)
  • 1 tablespoon of French mustard
  • 1 tablespoon of honey
  • 1 cup of light beer
  • A few sprigs of fresh thyme
  • A sprig of fresh rosemary

Preparation

Step 1

Pour the beer into a saucepan and bring it to a boil. Then add mustard and honey, and evaporate them by half.

Step 2

Coarsely dice the apples. Julianne or dice the onion. Place the sausage in a casserole dish. Add the apple and onion. Sprinkle the whole with the torn thyme and rosemary, and then drizzle or brush with the previously prepared beer marinade.

Step 3

Put the sausage in the oven preheated to about 200°C (392 °F) for about 25–30 minutes, until the sausage is golden brown. For the sausage to have more flavour, every 5–10 minutes brush it with the beer sauce.
