I don’t know about you, but we find tube-shaped pasta funny. We don’t know if it’s the shape or the name. But apart from that, they are great in casseroles with sausage and tomato sauce.

Ingredients

  • Half a pack of ham sausage from Morliny
  • 1 onion
  • 500 ml of tomato passata
  • Half a teaspoon of dried oregano
  • Half a teaspoon of sweet pepper
  • 1 teaspoon of dried basil
  • 1 teaspoon of granulated garlic
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 cup of grated hard cheese
  • 300 g (10.6 oz) of tube-shaped pasta

  • Herbal crumble topping (optional):
  • 1 cup of breadcrumbs or a piece of stale bread
  • A bunch of parsley
  • 2 cloves of garlic
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • A third a cup of olive oil

Preparation

Step 1

Cook the pasta in salted boiling water. Use half the time indicated on the package. Strain after cooking and rinse with cold water.

Step 2

Blend all the crumble topping ingredients in a food processor or a hand blender.

Step 3

Finely chop the onion. Slice the sausage. Use a frying pan to heat the olive oil and glaze the onion on it. Add the sausage and fry it for about 2 minutes. Pour the tomatoes over and mix them. Add spices and bring it all to a boil.

Step 4

Mix the cooked pasta with the sauce and transfer it all to an ovenproof dish. Sprinkle with cheese and additional crumble topping. Bake in the oven preheated to 180–200 °C (456–392 °F) for about 20 minutes.
