Morliny-style sausage baked with mashed potatoes

Soft potato pillow … Mashed potatoes are a pleasure for the senses. That’s why it’s worth to combine them with sausage!


  • Half a pack of white sausage from Morliny (2–3 sausages)
  • 500 g (1.1 lb) of mashed potatoes
  • Half a cup of milk
  • 50 g (3.5 oz) of butter
  • 2 tablespoons of chopped chives
  • A pinch of nutmeg
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Parsley for decoration (optional) 


Step 1

Peel the potatoes. Divide into similar sized pieces, salt the water, and then cook it. When the potatoes are soft, strain the water thoroughly.

Step 2

Put the chopped butter into the bowl. Heat the milk. Press the potatoes into a bowl with butter, or beat them thoroughly with the butter so that they do not lump. Add the milk and mix it up thoroughly. Season the mashed potatoes with salt, pepper, and nutmeg. Add the chives and mix thoroughly.

Step 3

Put the potatoes into a baking dish. Cut the sausage in half and put it on top of the puree. Bake everything for 20–25 minutes at 200 °C (392 °F), until the sausage and potatoes are golden brown. Serve the finished dish sprinkled with chopped herbs.
